Summer is drawing to a close. We'd like to thank so many of you for taking part in our Tales & Legends Festival, as well as the Medieval Festivals, which have become a real must-see event in the region. All this is thanks to you, but also to our volunteers, without whom nothing would be possible.
The medieval festivities: August 14 and 15!
Transport yourself back several centuries during the 25th Fêtes Médiévales, taking place on Monday August 14 and Tuesday August 15, 2023 at Mortemer Abbey! Take advantage of the day's entertainment, stroll along the Chemin des Ducs and visit the Theme Apartments and the Museum of Ghosts and Legends.

Introduced in 2008 in the cloister of the Mortemer Abbey on evening, in the candlelight, this new astonishing and full of surprises show was warmly received by an enthusiastic audience, came to laugh willingly at the mention of these deadly sins surprisingly not so dead. Drawn from fables written in the Middle Ages, this farce, it is one despite the serious topic, is subtly interpreted by actors without complex that also have a lot of fun. Greenness of language, as it was practiced in the thirteenth century is given back by awkward rhymes which are irresistibly funny!
Everything begins on a lovely medieval music, Adam and Eve appear among the flowers in the Eden garden. Adam bites into the apple, Humanity starts. Then Cain kills his brother Abel, and from this event, things get more and more complicated ...
Mood change, we enter the heart of the matter. A priest who refuses to practice Christian charity in his troop, is facing a proud knight who does not hesitate to employ radical but highly questionable methods to bring reason and punish him for his greed. Only the rider seems to have kept the good sense...
What follows is the story of a monstrous widow who feels the desire born and search after a vigorous lover. It ends with the story of a shrew mastered by his son-in-law, a to wish cruel and manipulative Count.
Greed, pride, lust ... All the ills of Humanity are represented , and that is laughter, a healthy laugh, spontaneous and uncontrollable. Mixture of innocence and freshness, this show uses comedy springs to highlight the vices of the different characters. The staging is surprising and unexpected, it’s punctuated by music and dance. A pure moment of relaxation not to miss.
